After 20 years of operating out of the tractor facility in San Leandro, the Engine Division was finally given a home of its own. On January 11, 1977, Power packed up and moved to a brand new 40,000 square foot facility two blocks away, set on seven acres of land. The facility housed a shop for truck engines, another for industrial engines and a spacious, 7,000 line item parts warehouse to serve them, plus offices and space to grow in.
Since then, Peterson Power Systems, Inc., has grown dramatically in all three of its major business segments and earned a reputation of its own in the Northern California engine market. Aggressive marketing backed by superior product support has clearly made the difference.
Today, Peterson's engine products fall into two basic categories: truck engines, and commercial engines which includes power generation, marine, industrial engines and rentals. Each segment has its own peculiarities and requirements... and each is vital to the longevity of Peterson Power Systems, Inc.
