CAS® Slinger Powered by a Cat C7.1 Industrial Engine

If you work in construction, residential development, landscaping or even mining, you’re probably familiar with a “slinger.” That’s the common term for an all-terrain vehicle that uses a conveyor system to move and place material. But despite sharing a name, not all slingers are the same. Those manufactured by Conveyor Application Systems (CAS®), subsidiary of Rexius Inc., stand apart from the crowd.

Peterson Power Helps A State-Run Facility

In September 2015, a state-run facility in California that serves several hundred individuals with developmental disabilities was in trouble. The facility’s main 12KV transformer failed during the night. Without the transformer functioning, the entire facility essentially shuts down, preventing it from giving adequate care to those in need. Only hours after the call came in, Peterson techs were on-site with rental equipment and support services.

Peterson Power Helps A Mechanical Contractor

In the summer of 2015, a full-service design build mechanical contractor was unable to maintain a comfortable temperature for its tenants. With temperatures soaring to 100°F in the summer, a functioning HVAC system is highly necessary. If not fixed, the tenants could have sued the facility for loss and damage.

Peterson Power Helps A Hospital In Oregon

In the summer of 2016, a broken chiller at a hospital in Oregon caused immediate attention. If the hospital were to get too warm, care providers would be forced to move patients to other facilities; however, no additional facilities were available. With temperatures soaring to 100 degrees in the summer, a chiller is highly necessary for a hospital and has to perform 100% of the time to provide air conditioning and cold water.

A leading, independent refinery and marketer of petroleum products in California was obligated to follow air pollution regulations. Due to the lack of maintenance to the refinery and the high air pollution that the diesel rental equipment caused, the refinery was at risk of being fined heavily.

Peterson Power Helps The Department Of Administrative Services

The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) implements the governor and legislature’s political decisions while ensuring the productive use of tax dollars. To hold the information necessary for DAS to properly function, the department maintains a small data center that is cooled by primary and backup cooling systems. In the spring of 2016, the main chiller failed, and the DAS staff had to take immediate action to prevent overheating of the data center.

The main electricity and telecommunications services provider for Costa Rica, Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) (English: Costa Rican Institute of Electricity) experienced an electric power shortage in the largest city in the country, San Jose. A severe rainstorm caused flooding that damaged the city’s hydroelectric power plant. Two different plant locations were affected, and an immediate solution was crucial.

A well-known and prominent oil and gas company had recently completed construction of a new facility in the rural town of Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Here they were going to be processing field natural gas. The local utility was eight months late in upgrading their transmission lines to support this new facility. The company had no electricity to test, commission or operate the facility, presenting them with a major financial crisis.

Located amidst wildlife, in a rural town in Gabon, was a globally renowned oil company that was unable to achieve production goals due to insufficient power. The oil company experienced a failure of their 25-year-old gas turbine which had been built by a company that was no longer in business. The turbine couldn’t be repaired quickly, and the surrounding infrastructure was in decay.

Project Management and Engineering - from Start to Finish

In 2009, the single largest piece of gear that Peterson Power Systems ever sold was delivered: a fully self contained electrical switchgear building measuring over fifty feet long, sixteen feet wide, and sixteen feet tall. The unit weighed nearly one hundred thousand pounds, and was the primary piece of equipment in a multimillion dollar electrical upgrade project for the City of San Francisco’s Water Department.
