Project Management and Engineering

WE'LL HELP YOU MAKE YOUR POWER PROJECT A SUCCESS

from start to finish

  • Peterson Power Systems project management and project engineering group is comprised of two teams based in San Leandro, CA and Portland, OR.  The group has a vast amount of experience in mechanical and electrical construction and service industries as well as a combined 100+ years of Caterpillar dealership experience.  The members of this group are essential to the delivery of every industrial and marine propulsion engine as well as every piece of standby and prime power generation equipment sold by Peterson Power Systems.

Project ManagementThe teams provide documentation including 3D AutoCad drawings, engineering submittals and full Operation and Maintenance manuals with every project as applicable.   From a simple Automatic Transfer Switch to multiple generators and paralleling switchgear, custom sound attenuated enclosures for land-based and marine applications, load banks, diesel particulate filters, fuel polishing systems and every other item on a bill of materials will be identified and documented for accurate record keeping.  Project managers and engineers are a resource for information concerning seismic certification, exhaust emission requirements and a myriad of equipment application questions.

Once submittals are approved we monitor the fabrication, production, testing and shipment every step of the way to insure on time delivery.   We will meet the delivery at site to inspect equipment and assist our customer/contractor during off-loading and setting equipment.  We remain available throughout the installation and startup process to answer questions and help in any way we can.

We have dedicated Marine project management with two Caterpillar Certified Marine Analysts on our team to assist with technical issues and participate in sea trials when needed.

The project management group has orchestrated projects with our customers locally, across the U.S.A. and even around the world on land and sea.

  • Peterson isn't just an equipment provider.
In a recent project we undertook for a new San Francisco hospital, our project management and engineering team ensured that the client's generator would be OSHPD certified. While Caterpillar already had their 3500 series generators and the 3 Megawatt C175 certified for ground-level installation by OSHPD, this new hospital was designed with the generators to be located on the roof structure.

In order to be able to build the project as designed, we coordinated with our customer to bring one of the generators to the UC Berkeley Richmond Field House Earthquake Simulator to prove it's ability to withstand the greater forces the rooftop installation would impart.
