Facilities Maintenance Person
Peterson Cat has the immediate need for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Person at our Eugene, OR location.
SUMMARY
Perform facilities maintenance work, as directed, and assists in helping others in maintenance department project work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Perform repairs to building and fixed facility equipment. Remove and replace broken equipment. Perform plumbing and electrical repairs as required. Replace ballasts, light fixtures, and bulbs. Paint facilities as needed.
- Keep inventory of maintenance supplies and materials required for facilities maintenance. Ensure proper inventory levels of repair parts so repairs can be made in a timely manner.
- Purchase repair parts; process paperwork.
- Ability to work overtime, evenings, and occasional weekends due to project assignments.
- Attend scheduled training and departmental meetings.
- Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in preparing for city, state, and federal inspections.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of three years of related experience in facilities maintenance and operations; preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Understanding of maintenance function and ability to perform maintenance-related tasks. Should have basic working knowledge of most kinds of shop tooling, plant equipment, and building systems. Should be knowledgeable in repair options and time requirements.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
