SUMMARY
The Shuttle Driver is responsible to operate company van for the pickup and delivery of truck parts to customer sites, drop boxes, and other store facilities. Employee is responsible to perform warehouse duties when not delivering and will safely operate equipment such as a lift truck, hand truck, and other material handling equipment in the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Drives Company truck or van in safe manner to deliver parts to customers’ place of business, drop boxes, and other Peterson store facilities.
- Confirms correct parts are delivered / picked up from correct locations and ensures vehicles are properly loaded for safety and compliance.
- Promote positive company image by professional conduct and truck appearance.
- Communicates with supervisor and other team members to resolve customer concerns.
- Collects money from customers, makes change, and records transactions on customer receipt.
- Writes customer orders to include customer’s instructions.
- Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery record.
- Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
- Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
- Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Performs warehouse activities; stock and pick parts, fill customer orders, process returns and restock, etc.
- Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving or other staging areas onto and off of deliver vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs routine maintenance on truck, checks lights, water, oil, and maintains the inside of the truck clean.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.
JOB SCOPE
This position serves in the capacity of the Shuttle Driver - PTI. General discretion and judgment are exercised routinely in the execution of job duties. If errors in judgment or professional execution of responsibilities are made, the consequences to the to the department can be serious.
INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS
Internal contacts consist of levels of positions in the company from PTI managers to entry level positions. This position regularly deals with employees in exchange of information in person, writing, via telephone or by electronic transfer. Sensitivity is required in dealing with such information and decisions concerning the release or sharing of that information. External contacts consist of customers, visitors, and vendors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of driving experience and three to six months of customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to be Forklift certified.

Work is performed in a combination of a warehouse and field environment. Periodic work outside the warehouse and field environment may or may not have climate controls will be required. This is a full-time position. Days and hours worked will mirror the business operations which typically runs Monday -Friday. May work more than eight consecutive hours at a time or more than 40 hours in a 7-day work period depending on work demands. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and is occasionally required to stand; walk. Must be able to use hands to manipulate keyboards and reach with hands and arms in the course of picking up and moving materials. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most work performed is in an office environment with climate and noise controls. Some exposure to heat, noise, dust, fumes when working in field or shop environments may occur. You will occasionally walk outside between buildings. Work environment considered to be moderate with seasonal temperature changes, occasional exposure to outside weather, and with a moderate noise level.
